24/7 Emergency Locksmith · Birmingham
Emergency locksmith in Birmingham
If you are standing outside your door right now, call first and read afterwards. Cornel answers his own phone — there is no call centre in between — and he is typically with you in 20–30 minutes across Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
No call-out fee · Price agreed before any work starts · 1-year guarantee
What to do while you wait
- Don't force the lock. A key that has snapped flush can usually be extracted intact. Levering the door or turning a broken key with pliers often turns a £-something extraction into a full mechanism replacement.
- Check the other doors and ground-floor windows. Obvious, and it still saves callouts several times a month.
- Find your exact address and postcode. On a Birmingham estate, knowing the block and door number saves real minutes.
- Say if you are vulnerable or unsafe. Alone at night, a child or pet shut inside, no coat in winter — say so on the phone and you get prioritised.
- If a neighbour has a spare, say so. Cornel would rather tell you to use it than charge you for a job you didn't need.
What it costs
There is no call-out fee. You are not charged for Cornel turning up, looking at the door, and telling you what is wrong.
The price depends on the lock and the job — a standard nightlatch opening is not the same as a failed multipoint mechanism on a uPVC door. Whatever it is, the price is agreed with you before any work starts. Nothing is added afterwards, and there is no "emergency surcharge" that appears once the door is open.
All work carries a 1-year guarantee. If a lock Cornel fitted fails within that year, he comes back and sorts it.
Getting in without wrecking the door
Most lockouts are opened non-destructively — picked, bypassed or manipulated so the existing lock still works afterwards and you are not paying for a new door furniture set on top of the callout.
Drilling is a last resort, not an opening move. It is sometimes genuinely unavoidable: certain high-security cylinders, a mechanism that has already failed internally, or a key snapped in a way that has jammed the cam. When that is the case Cornel tells you before he starts, explains why, and quotes the replacement at the same time.
Common emergencies
Locked out of the house
Door pulled shut behind you, keys inside. The most common call, and usually the quickest.
Key snapped in the lock
Part of the key is still in the cylinder. Usually extractable — stop turning it.
Lost or stolen keys
If keys are lost with an address attached, change the lock rather than just getting in.
uPVC door won't lock
Handle lifts but the key won't turn — usually a failing multipoint gearbox, very common locally.
Key turns but nothing happens
Cam or cylinder failure. The door may still open from inside — don't let it shut.
Break-in or attempted break-in
Securing the property comes first, then a permanent repair and a security upgrade.

Who actually turns up
Cornel. Every time. Lock Savers is not a call centre that subcontracts your job to whoever is nearest and cheapest — which is why so many "emergency locksmith" numbers quote one price on the phone and a different one at the door.
He is DBS-checked, UKLA trained and fully insured. You get the same name, face and number every time, and he is accountable for the work afterwards.
